What do you mean by "circles"? If you mean something small and wearable, like a lamen/breastplate/ring, it helps to consecrate it under the force desired. If it's something larger like a Circle of Art, the construction itself is generally the consecration, but you might also want to purify the area, surface, and writing supplies beforehand. Intentions are well and good, and suffices as consecration if something is done with enough focused intent, but it helps to always have a bit of formality.

However, things like Circles of Art were not used historically in ancient Greece, Egypt, and the like; they're a much more recent invention. You don't generally need a circle, especially if you're working with or under a particular god or guardian of protection. Sometimes having a circle is a bad idea, but it's usually helpful all the same. It can be an elaborately drawn out thing or a simple trace with a wand, so it doesn't particularly matter (again, depending on your tradition and need).

From the traditional view, there are two main operations: rituals to bring in and work with spirits (invoking, evoking, summoning), and rituals to send away spirits (banishing, exorcism). All are considered types of conjurations (literally "swearing together").

Most ritual you'll find in the Western Hermetic tradition, especially if you look at the old grimoires and texts (like those on Esoteric Archives) are either explicitly Christian or very Christian-friendly. Consider that my own instructor, Fr. Rufus Opus, himself is a very devout Christian.

Well said, and the distinction is a good one. More people should know it IMO. I use the Solomonic conjurations simply because they work, though I agree they're heavy handed to say the least. :/

Or in the words of Gary Numan from "In A Dark Place", 'Sometimes I call out for You--and sometimes I'm afraid...'

Polyphanes, Sir !
I am not a practitioner of magic but would like to try. Can you explain to me the difference of conjuring, banishing, invoking and evoking spirits. Is there a Christian ritual I can use to practice as a beginner ? I have read LBRP .
Thank you very much !

Yes, quite a bit of orgonite out there looks like crap. somewhat sparkly crap, but crap none the less. Then there is the super pretty orgonite manufacturers. Like this place: http://www.natures-blessings.org/orgoneProducts.htm
but what they make seems more like talismans then the usual orgonite stuff. Someone, somewhere else posted a similar thought about all orgonite, that it seems more pure magic then orgone tech that is more traditional with Reich's work.

Although, I wonder if one could use resin to construct an orgone accumulator on a small scale, as I think the usual resin is technically an organic substance.
